where is the money going?

  • This includes all the costs associated with operating our project i.e. working with local venues, bringing our first cohort to Mindelo, providing child care & food during our programs.

  • each student will be compensated for their time, this ensures equal opportunity for working mothers, single parents, and youth alike. it also creates a sense of responsibility and accountability towards the program.

  • Setting up a ceramics studio requires a minimum level of available tools (think moulds, wires, sponges, and ribs) as well as equipment (wheels, kilns, drying shelves and more).

  • Our team works hard to make this happen, they need to get paid too —and fairly!

  • Alongside our dedicated ceramics program will be open community workshops. This allows for greater reach and involvement, and broader support for the program.

  • As our project moves beyond our preliminary 6 month course we will be setting up our own space that will act as our offices, community center and workshop.
