SOLM is a nonprofit organisation reimagining the future of tourism through regenerative hospitality. Based in Cabo Verde, we work in deep collaboration with local communities to restore and revitalize the social, cultural, and ecological fabric of places impacted by tourism.
Our work bridges education, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and creative economic opportunity, especially for women and youth. Through slow, place-based programming rooted in care, craft, and community, we aim to build a more equitable and life-giving model for hospitality.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a thoughtful, organized, and open-minded Project Coordinator to join our team in Calhau. This is a hands-on, technical role that involves supporting day-to-day coordination of workshops, projects and logistics, as well as assisting with communication, logistics, and potentially social media.
It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys talking to people from all walks of life, is curious and willing to learn on the job, and is excited to grow with SOLM as we build our programs from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Support on-site and off-site logistics and coordination of weekly workshops and community events
Assist with hands-on technical activities, especially related to artisan processes
Communicate clearly and respectfully with local partners, community members, and participants
Document activities through photos, videos, notes, and short stories for internal and external use
Learn (or apply existing) skills related to social media management and storytelling
Help maintain a clean and organized workshop and shared community space
Track supplies, prepare materials, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Represent SOLM in the community with care, respect, and presence
We’re Looking For Someone Who
Is reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently
Brings curiosity for topics such as regenerative design, culture, education, or land-based work
Has a strong eye for aesthetics, curation, and meaningful storytelling
Is familiar with tools like Instagram, Canva, and basic scheduling platforms
Bonus: writing, photography, video editing, or design skills
