Our mon pikenin (little hands) sessions welcome children aged 5 to 12 to explore, create, and discover through hands-on workshops inspired by craftsmanship, nature, and imagination.

In this edition, Clay Creations, young makers will discover the joy of working with clay through simple handbuilding techniques. Using coloured engobes, textures, stamps, and natural tools, children will shape and decorate their own ceramic creations while exploring their creativity in a playful and welcoming environment.

The workshop takes place at Alternativa Galeria, a space that has been home to handmade work in Mindelo since 1981 and continues to inspire creativity across generations.

All finished pieces will remain at our SOLM Atelier in Calhau for drying and firing and will be ready for collection approximately two weeks later. Shipping can also be arranged for an additional fee.

Please note: To encourage independence and allow children to fully immerse themselves in the experience, mon pikenin is a drop-off workshop. Parents and guardians are invited to return at the end of the session for pick-up.
